‘Little Couple’s Jen Arnold Shares Update on Teen Daughter After Surgery

Zoey Klein, the 14-year-old daughter of The Little Couple stars Jen Arnold and Bill Klein, underwent surgery on July 28 so doctors could have a better understanding of “what’s causing her obstructive sleep apnea.”

Arnold took to Instagram to share that Zoey was undergoing an “airway evaluation,” noting that sleep apnea is a common challenge for both kids and adults with achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism.

“Understanding why sleep apnea is happening is essential because the treatment isn’t always the same for everyone,” Arnold, who is also a doctor, explained. “This airway study will help guide the best next steps for Zoey.” She added that the test will hopefully give the family answers to help Zoey breathe and sleep easier.

In a separate post, Arnold also explained why children with achondroplasia often struggle with sleep apnea. “Differences in the anatomy of the face, jaw, airway, and spine can make obstructive sleep apnea much more common and can have important effects on growth, learning, behavior, heart health, and overall quality of life if left untreated,” she wrote.

After the surgery was complete, Arnold gave fans an update in the form of a video with her daughter, which she captioned, “Zoey is doing great! PostOp!”

In the clip, Zoey assured viewers, “I’m doing absolutely fine, don’t worry. I got my nose and my airwave clean.” She reiterated, “I’m absolutely fine. It’s just going to take a couple days too recover. My throat hurts a little, but I’m absolutely fine. I’m feeling so excited. But I’m definitely going to rest.”

She thanked her mom and dad for helping her in her recovery and praised the “amazing” doctors and surgeons, adding, “The surgery went really well.”

Arnold also mentioned in another post how “proud” she is of her son, Will Klein, for being there for his sister on surgery day. “Without anyone asking, he decided he wanted to come with us to support Zoey during her surgery,” Arnold wrote. “As a parent, moments like these remind you that kindness, compassion, and love are often shown in the quietest ways.”
