‘Today’s Sheinelle Jones Gives Fans a Glimpse Inside New Home After Move

Sheinelle Jones took Today viewers along as she gave one of the spaces in her new home a gorgeous makeover.

“I recently moved to a new apartment with a completely empty patio. I’ve always wanted to entertain, especially now, so I went to Crate & Barrel,” Jones shared in a segment aired on the Wednesday, July 29, episode of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle. “And then, I tagged one of my favorite humans on the planet, who’s a designer extraordinaire, Preston Konrad, to help me out a little bit.”

During the segment, Konrad noted that he and Jones wanted to bring “character and personality” to her spacious patio. “She’s got all this beautiful new furniture, but we need the layers, we need the personality, and it has to feel like her,” he explained.

Jones worked with the designer to create renderings of the space before Konrad handled arranging the furniture pieces the host purchased. “We want to make it feel like indoor rooms: a dining area, a living area, and a little bit of a nook just to hang out,” he stated.

Jones joined him later in the decorating process to arrange fake plants around the patio. “I know there are those of you who are like me out there who you may not have a green thumb, but you still want the look,” Jones stated.

Konrad went on to share some outdoor design tips, such as layering rugs and using different pillows than ones that come with furniture pieces. Later in the segment, chef Krissy Downey helped Jones prep for her house party guests by teaching her how to make a Hug Spritz, a vegetable tart, and other snacks.

The segment concluded with Jones hosting several friends on her patio for a housewarming party. “Thank you guys for being my first houseguests. I want to toast to summer, to friendship, and good times, and love, and all the good things,” she stated.

Back in Today‘s Studio 1A, Jenna Bush Hager said she was particularly a fan of the patio’s reading nook. Jones explained that she drew inspiration for the space from a South Carolina Airbnb she and her family stayed in during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The place where we stayed had this beautiful couch, and I would go out there and read and have a frosé,” she recalled. “And I remember thinking, ‘God, I would love to be able to have a space like this.’ And so now, six years later, when, good lord, life has given me some ups and downs, to have a place where I feel safe and zen and I can entertain with people I love, I’m so thankful.”

Back in May, Jones revealed she was moving out of her New York City apartment with her three kids — Kayin, Clara, and Uche. The move news came one year after Jones’ husband, Uche Ojeh, died at the age of 45 following a private battle with brain cancer.

On Jenna & Sheinelle at the time, Jones revealed that she found her wedding dress while going through boxes ahead of the move. “I remember everybody telling me that you’re supposed to get them preserved, and I didn’t,” she told Bush Hager on May 14. “I remember, Uche and I took pictures all over the streets of Philadelphia, so the bottom of it is like [dirty]. It’s like that from the bottom.”
