Good Morning America just widened its lead in a summer ratings battle with Today and CBS Mornings.
For the week of July 13, GMA expanded its total-viewer-lead over Today — from a difference of 24,000 the previous week to a difference of 93,000 — according to Nielsen’s national live+same-day big data plus program ratings, per AdWeek. The ABC morning show was also the only one out of the three to grow both in total views (up 9%) and in the key Adults 25–54 demographic (up 3%).
GMA brought in an impressive 2.84 million total viewers (up 1% from the previous week), with Today snagging 2.74 million (down 1%), and CBS Mornings trailing significantly at 1.59 million (down 2%). When compared to the same week in 2025, however, GMA was actually up by 9% in total views, with Today up by 13% and CBS Mornings down by 13%.
However, Today still managed to best GMA in the 25–54 demo during the week of July 13 by just under 100,000 viewers — with 553,000 viewers versus 458,000 viewers. It was also the closest GMA has been to Today in the key demo since the week of January 12. Meanwhile, CBS Mornings lagged far behind among Adults 25–48, at just 220,0000 viewers.
When compared to the same week in 2025, viewership in the Adults 25–54 demo for GMA was up 3%, with Today up 5% in the demographic and CBS Mornings suffering a 15% drop compared to last year.
GMA widening its lead over Today during the week of July 13 came on the heels of the ABC morning show breaking the NBC program’s 24-week win streak during the week of July 6. Amid that feat, CBS Mornings was the only one out of the three to post week-to-week declines in both categories.
