Prime Video’s Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle, has officially been renewed for a second season. What, like it’s hard?

The first season of Elle premiered on July 1, introducing viewers to Elle Woods long before she was the pink-clad lawyer we all know and love. Set in 1995, the prequel series follows Elle (Lexi Minetree) in her high school days, when she is plucked from her perfect Bel Air life and into a far grayer, grungier status quo at Rainier West High in rainy Seattle. (Warning: Season 1 spoilers ahead!)

During Season 1, viewers got to know some of her potential love interests, student athlete Miles (Jacob Moskovitz) and social justice warrior Dustin (Zac Looker), along with potential new friends Liz (Gabrielle Policano) and Kimberly (Chandler Kinney), who have an unexpected connection of their own.

Has Elle Season 2 already been filmed?

Yes, Season 2 of Elle has been filmed. The second season wrapped filming before the Season 1 premiere. Showrunner Laura Kittrell revealed to Deadline, “We pick up in Season 2 right after Season 1 ends. So the cliffhangers that we’ve left you with in Season 1, you will not have to wait long to see how those are going to be resolved.”

When will Season 2 of Elle premiere?

Elle was renewed long before Season 1 aired, so it’s likely that Season 2 is already on Prime Video’s upcoming schedule, likely for 2027. That said, no official premiere date has been released just yet.

Who has been cast in Elle Season 2?

Season 2 of Elle is set to feature mostly familiar faces, including Season 1 stars Lexi Minetree, June Diane Raphael, Tom Everett Scott, Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, and Zac Looker. However, one new star has already been added to the mix.

On February 26, 2026, it was announced that Never Have I Ever star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan would join the Season 2 cast as Sam. Deadline shared that Sam is “Elle’s foil – possessing all our hero’s ambition and none of her optimism. She’s the founder, editor-in-chief, and lord baron of the school newspaper, the commissioner of the grammar police, and the enemy of joy. If Cosmo is Elle’s bible, The AP Stylebook is Sam’s holy grail…”

During Season 1 of Elle, our leading lady came to realize that dreary Seattle isn’t so bad after all. While an article that she wrote for Cosmopolitan rubbed her new friends the wrong way, leading her to head back to LA for her internship on less-than-firm footing, her homecoming to the school’s Informal proved that she is now a Seattle girl.
