How Did ‘Enola Holmes 2’ End? What You Need to Remember Before ‘Enola Holmes 3’
Sherlock Holmes’ (Henry Cavill) scrappy younger sister, Enola (Millie Bobby Brown), returns for her third outing on July 1, and from what fans have been able to glean beforehand, it looks like the young detective is not only tackling another mystery in a far-flung location — this time on the Mediterranean island nation of Malta — but also facing another major challenge: marriage.
In the trailer, it appeared Enola was headed to the altar with her longtime beau, Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge). But it also appeared that before she could tie the knot, she learned that big brother Sherlock had been kidnapped. Can a gal catch a break? Even on her wedding day?
But before fans dive into another action-packed adventure with their favorite teenage sleuth, here are a few things to remember before watching Enola Holmes 3. Please enjoy.
What was Enola Holmes 2 about?
Enola Holmes 2 followed Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister as she opened her own detective agency and took on her first official case: finding a missing factory worker, Sarah Chapman (Hannah Dodd). Her investigation uncovered a deadly corporate conspiracy at a London matchstick factory, where the workers were being poisoned by a mysterious illness caused by a change in the factory’s chemical formula.
How did Enola Holmes 2 end?
While Enola was on the hunt for Sarah, Sherlock was struggling to solve a mystery of his own involving financial extortion and government blackmail. The sibling duo soon discovered that their two cases were connected; the stolen documents and contracts the factory girls possessed were tied directly to the blackmail scheme.
The conspiracy was orchestrated by Mira Troy (Sharon Duncan-Brewster), the series’ version of Moriarty and the Treasury Minister’s secretary. She orchestrated the deaths and the blackmail scheme to seize total control of the match monopoly. Enola and Sherlock exposed the plan during a showdown at the Paragon Theatre. However, Mira escaped police custody during a chaotic battle at the theater and fled.
After all was said and done, Sherlock asked Enola to become his partner, but she wanted to go out on her own and kindly said no.
Enola discovered that the missing girl, Sarah Chapman, wasn’t hiding at all but fighting back. Disguised the entire time, Sarah had been leading the matchgirls’ strike, and together they stamped their feet in unison to demand justice.
What happened to Enola and Lord Tewkesbury?
By the end of the pic, Enola and Lord Tewkesbury’s relationship blossomed into a full romance as he helped Enola by hiding the missing girl and using his newfound political power to aid her in solving the case. By the end of the film, they share a dance, confess their love for each other, and stroll off together arm-in-arm.
What happened in the Enola Holmes 2 credits?
In a mid-credits scene, Sherlock returned to his office on Baker Street to meet with Enola, but instead of his sister, found a stranger: a man named Dr. John Watson (Himesh Patel), whom Enola had sent to become her brother’s new roommate and companion.
