‘Fire Country’ Is Filming Season 5 — See Max Thieriot on Set (PHOTOS)
What To Know
- Filming for Fire Country Season 5 is underway.
- Star and co-creator Max Thieriot shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the set in Vancouver.
We may not have a Fire Country Season 5 premiere date yet, and fortunately, the CBS drama is not one that ended on a major cliffhanger, but thanks to series star, executive producer, and co-creator Max Thieriot, we’ve gotten a glimpse at what’s to come when it returns in the fall.
Thieriot took to Instagram on Tuesday, June 23, to show that filming is underway. “Smoothie break,” he wrote in the caption of a photo of himself sitting on the back of an engine. “Season 5 baby!”
Thieriot also shared a few videos on his Instagram Stories from set, with costar Jules Latimer in the background in one and him sharing jokes with her — “Why’d the firefighter bring a ladder to the bar? …. Because he heard the drinks were on the house” — in others.
“We’re back on set. Fire Country Season 5,” he said in one video. “It’s beautiful up here right now in Vancouver. The weather’s awesome. No rain yet. Looks like there might be a fire.”

Fire Country Season 4 ended with Jake (Jordan Calloway) and Violet’s (Nesta Cooper) wedding — and no cliffhanger, a welcome note after the previous one left multiple Leones’ lives hanging in the balance. When Season 4 premiered, Bode’s (Thieriot) father Vince (Billy Burke) died in a fire.
“We felt like, yeah, given where we started, we wanted to finish on a positive note. We wanted to finish with some hope and some joy and something new, new beginnings,” Thieriot told TV Insider.
Season 5 is going to be 13 episodes, rather than 20, but he sees a “blessing” in it. “There’s less to be thinking about in the large scheme, so, you can arc out your season and each episode is that much more significant and that much more important. There’s times when maybe they feel a little packed with story or like you’re going through stuff quicker, but, at the same time, I think when you build a timeline that makes sense in the world, that doesn’t bump on you. But yeah, it gives us a chance to really dig in on the 13 best episodes,” he explained.
Looking ahead, Bode in Season 5 is “going to be driven with new purpose,” Thieriot previewed. “I think we’re going to get to see the evolution of his character and watch him mature more and become the man not necessarily that Vince was, but become the man who’s going to step up to be that guy, that guy for the community and just that person that everybody can rely on.”
He also teased “some really cool incidents,” and it’s possible the one he offered a glimpse of on June 23 is among them.

Hopefully they ditch Chloe. Not interested in them as a couple or her kid.

I wasn’t at first either but think she’s better than Audrey.

I agree with you! And Chloe’s still dating Bode in s5.

I didn’t Audrey so much either but I think Chloe is the worst one. Looks like the new show runner isn’t bringing her back. Hoping to get a single Bode for a while.
