‘Fire Country’ First Look: ‘Station 19’s Jay Hayden to Recur — What’s His History With Bode & Jake?
Exclusive
Station 19 may be over after seven seasons, but Fire Country is becoming the place to go to see its former stars. After Brett Tucker debuted as Alexi, a potential love interest for Sharon (Diane Farr) in Season 4, the series is adding another alum from the ABC first responder drama.
TV Insider has learned exclusively that Jay Hayden (who played firefighter Travis Montgomery on Station 19) will be recurring in Fire Country Season 5. He debuts in Episode 4, airing Friday, October 30. We have first-look photos of him, which you can check out below, from Episode 6.
Hayden’s character, Mason, comes from a prominent Edgewater family. He’s described as “a confident and charismatic former pro baseball player and one-time teammate and pal of Bode [Max Thieriot] and Jake [Jordan Calloway]. He returns home to convert his family’s old paper mill into a new business and reconnect with his old buddies, but he has a secret agenda that could either help or hurt the town.”
And based on the images, it looks like he’s going to be cozying up to the newest firefighter in town, CJ, played by Season 5 addition Olivia Thirlby. She did tell us, “CJ’s pretty spicy, and she definitely finds her way into some interesting situations.”
Hayden’s not the only notable guest star in his first episode. Sheriff Country‘s W. Earl Brown will be appearing as Wes Fox, one week before the two-show crossover. In “Winners and Losers,” CBS teases, “As a mounting controversy puts Station 42 under scrutiny, Bode and the volunteer firefighters face a challenging test that leads them to an unexpected rescue.”
