‘The Mob’ Trailer: Host Parker Posey Breaks Down Hulu’s Deceptive New Show

The Mob is coming to Hulu in less than two weeks, and it may just be our new celebrity competition obsession. The show features reality stars from shows including Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelor, and more, and Parker Posey will serve as host.

What is The Mob?

Hulu shared some information about the concept of The Mob, noting that it will feature the contestants living in a “lavish Italian villa where they will shake down, hustle, and whack their way” to win cash prizes.

“Every episode, they will tackle mob movie-inspired jobs to survive,” the show announcement said. “But every mob family needs a don, and whoever they choose will have absolute power — deciding who makes money, who stays, and who ultimately gets whacked. In a game where power demands absolute loyalty, can the don stay in control, or will the family rise up and overthrow them?”

Is there a trailer for The Mob?

Hulu released the first trailer for The Mob on October 14. It features a narration from Posey, who breaks down the rules of the game.

“In this family, when we need to make our problems go away, we make sure they really go away,” Posey says. “There’s a group of celebrities on their way to compete in a brand new game. It’s a game of power, where loyalty and trust are the currency. They’ll complete a series of jobs and choose a Don who will have control over who gets paid and who gets taken out. But power doesn’t last forever. Because family members can pledge loyalty to a new Don.”

As Selling Sunset star Chelsea Lakanzi points out, “Being the Don is a double-edge sword. It’s great to have power, but you’re going to create some enemies.” Meanwhile, Jowsey vows to “cheat, manipulate, gaslight, and lie” in order to win.” Check out the full trailer above.
