‘American Idol’ Runner-Up Jordan McCullough Teases Debut Single

Jordan McCullough is gearing up to release new music after his finish as the runner-up in Season 24 of American Idol. He debuted his new song “See Me” during a performance in Nashville on June 3, and it will be coming out later this month, per Country Now.

When McCullough performed at 19 Recordings’ American Idol Takeover event on June 3, he sang “See Me” publicly for the first time. Afterwards, he told Country Now that the song “wraps up my moment and my journey on American Idol.”

McCullough previously told TV Insider that he’d been doing a lot of writing while living in Los Angeles for the American Idol Live Shows, and he was able to draw inspiration from that pivotal time in his life for the debut song.

“I think it’ll give a lot of people perspective into what I felt coming in second place on the show,” McCullough added. “[I’m] hoping that people see me for who I am and going along the journey because here we are. It’s about to get started.”

Amid his music journey, McCullough will be making his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 18. Season 24 winner Hannah Harper had her breakout Opry moment on June 2, and McCullough was there to support her at the show.

Coming in second place on Idol was a full-circle moment for McCullough, who previously auditioned for The Voice and didn’t even make it past the Blind Auditions.

“I think [on The Voice], I was just trying to prove myself, prove myself worthy of being in that room,” he told TV Insider. “This time, you’re either going to love it or not, and I don’t have to prove nothing to nobody. I know the Lord loves me and I love him and he made this opportunity, so I’m just going to walk in it.”
