HGTV’s Jasmine Roth Shares Major Family News After New Show Announcement

Not only is Jasmine Roth celebrating the announcement of her new HGTV series, but she’s also celebrating the arrival of a new family member.

In an interview with People published on Thursday, May 14, Jasmine revealed that she and her husband, Brett Roth, are expecting their third child. The couple, who wed in 2013, share daughters Hazel and Darla.

“It was the Monday after the Super Bowl, and we’d been busy hosting friends and family all weekend. I was packing for a big family snowboarding trip to Japan and had this thought that maybe I should take a test before we left — just to be safe,” she told the outlet. “And sure enough, it was positive. The lines were super faint, but they were there. I was completely shocked and instantly emotional.”

Jasmine said a “spontaneous pregnancy” was the “last thing” she expected after struggling with infertility following Hazel’s birth. As a result of the news, Jasmine canceled her family’s trip to Japan and opted for a beach getaway instead. The change in plans prompted her to tell her loved one about her pregnancy sooner than expected.

“After a long workday, we did the unthinkable and sent a group text to our families. They were not thrilled about finding out that way! But sometimes you just have to roll with the timing life gives you,” Jasmine joked, noting that she and Brett later “spent the rest of the night” Facetiming family and friends.

Jasmine told the outlet that her pregnancy has been “rough” so far and has been experiencing severe nausea for the past few months. The TV personality noted that she and Brett know the sex of their baby, but are choosing to withhold the news for the time being.

“Motherhood has truly been the greatest joy and privilege of my life,” she gushed. “I love being a mom, and it’s been really special watching my college-roommate-turned-husband become such an incredible dad. … We’re so excited to meet this baby and welcome what feels like the final piece of our family … Although I think I may have said that after each child.”

Jasmine’s pregnancy announcement comes on the heels of a major career update. As Help! I Wrecked My House awaits news of a Season 6 renewal, HGTV announced that Roth will star on the upcoming series Roast My Rental with Saturday Night Live alum Leslie Jones.

The 11-episode series will follow Jones as she crashes “America’s worst short-term rentals, whose viral photos of amenities gone wrong, misleading listings and brutally honest reviews have scared guests away,” per the show’s description. “After Leslie’s hilarious roast of the property and a no-nonsense reality check, she and her experienced design team led by HGTV star and home renovation expert Jasmine Roth (Help! I Wrecked My House) will come to the rescue and help the owners clean up the chaos in just 72 hours. They’ll fix the flaws, transform the houses into top-tier vacation escapes and give the ‘roastees’ a chance at redemption when the next guests come to stay.”

Roth celebrated the news via Instagram on Wednesday, May 13. “Been a little busy at work,” she captioned a montage of behind-the-scenes clips from filming. “Beyond grateful for every new opportunity with @hgtv – even if it means working harder than ever before.
