Should Sara Linton Appear in ‘Will Trent’ Season 5? (POLL)
Many fans of the Karin Slaughter books upon which Will Trent is based have been asking the same question for some time about the adaptation: Where is Sara Linton?
In the novels, the doctor character relates to Will (Ramón Rodríguez) on a very deep level thanks to her own history of trauma and heartache, and the two become a romantic item when things fall apart with Angie (Erika Christensen). Given the fact that Will and Angie haven’t been a romantic couple in two whole seasons at this point, it might seem inevitable that the TV series might finally introduce this top love interest at long last.
When asked whether the show is heading for a Will-Angie rekindling or perhaps to introduce Sara at long last, the showrunners couldn’t commit either way.
Liz Heldens said simply, “Angie and Will are the beating heart of this show… It is nice to have them close again. And, I mean, I have friends who were like, ‘I miss Will and Angie having scenes together. I miss them.’ And it is nice to get them really, really in each other’s orbit and helping each other and pulling each other through like they have been.” And Karine Rosenthal added, “We don’t need to rush to have the two of them be romantically involved anymore because they get to be together in a new way that we haven’t seen before.” Still, “Whether another person comes into the mix and then they have to navigate that again, or if it slowly leads to them trying again at some point, we’ll see.”
One thing that some fans have noted is that the show has diverged from the novel in one key way: Angie, on paper, is a terrible partner to Will in ways that we simply don’t see in the television version of the same. So the question becomes: Do you want to see Sara Linton join the fold in Will Trent Season 5? And why or why not?!

Since they have strayed so far from the book anyway by killing Amanda off, it's time for Will and Angie to get married and for a plot twist that they have to find out through a medical emergency that the baby is actually Will's from the night that he and Angie got together when he accidentally shot that young kid through the wall.

The show is so far from the books at this point, I don't even think about them as related anymore. The writers would just ruin the Sarah Linton storyline too.

No new love for Will. He and Angie are the ticket.

This show has become so far from the books that so many people read and loved that it has lost all appeal to me-it really should not be called Will Trent as nothing about it comes close to Karen Slaughter’s novels, the characters bear no resemblance to those in the book anymore it really should be called something else as at the moment it breaks all the rules regarding an adaptation. It is just a TV show that uses the same names for characters in a series of novels but has no real connection to the characteristic of those people. Sorry but the TV show has just become a real disappointment to those of us who love the Will Trent novels. Can’t be bothered to watch anymore in the hope it might revert to the script.

Sara Linton was one of the main characters of Karin Slaughter's Grant County series of books prior to her Will Trent series. Later Sara becomes a main in the Will Trent books. So if you ever read Will Trent, there are spoilers to this whole other series.

I think that will and Angie shouldn’t get back together. I think they should let Faith mother take over the GBI. She’s a very good actress. And I always thought that that baby is will.
