‘Morning Joe’ Slams Trump’s ‘Obscene’ Iran Threat as MS NOW Doctor Flags President’s ‘Dementia Signs’
What To Know
- Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough condemned Donald Trump’s recent threat to Iran as “obscene” and an insult to Muslims.
- Trump’s controversial Truth Social post demanded Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which has been blocked since U.S. and Israeli attacks.
- MS NOW medical analyst Dr. Vin Gupta publicly claimed Trump is exhibiting signs of dementia.
Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough blasted Donald Trump on Monday morning (April 6), calling the president’s latest threat to Iran “obscene” and an “insult to Muslims across the planet.”
The MS NOW anchor was responding to a controversial post Trump made on Truth Social on Easter Sunday (April 5), which read, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F**kin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran in February, the country has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz, one of the busiest oil shipping channels, sending gas prices worldwide soaring.
Scarborough said that Trump’s post is evidence of his “frustration” with Iran for not reopening the channel. “Maybe we saw some of that frustration Easter morning with that absolutely obscene quote that, again, insults every Muslim across the planet and a good number of Christians across the planet,” the host said.
“And, of course, there are those who would suggest, ‘well, you just don’t understand Trump. Trump is schooling everybody. He plays by different…” Scarborough continued. “No, no, it’s not Donald Trump or our people in the media we’re concerned about, it’s what’s the impact on those who consider America their enemies. And the impact is not good.”
He went on to say that Trump’s threats would not “frighten” jihadists “like it might frighten some people in the West who are intimidated by the United States and Donald Trump.” Instead, he said, “This actually energizes them and entrenches them even more.”
Scarborough wasn’t the only MS NOW personality to have a go at Trump over his latest statements. On Sunday night, MS NOW senior medical analyst Dr. Vin Gupta claimed that the president’s recent actions show “all the signs of dementia.”

Trump, who turns 80 in June, has previously spoken about his health, telling NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Llamas in February, “I feel great. I mean, physically and mentally, I feel like I did 50 years ago. It’s crazy! Now there’ll be a time when I won’t be able to give you that answer. But that time hasn’t come, you know?”
