Tippi Hedren recently celebrated her 96th birthday with a rare public appearance at her daughter Melanie Griffith‘s house.

On January 19, the Birds (1963) and Marnie (1964) actress was photographed at Griffith’s residence, per the Daily Mail, as she marked the milestone with friends and family. Hedren was reportedly able to walk without assistance, only linking arms with her grandson, Alexander Bauer, 40, while navigating a set of stairs. (Alexander is Griffith’s son with her second husband, Steven Bauer.)
