HGTV stars and fans are supporting Alison Victoria after she shared some devastating family news.

The Sin City Rehab host announced via Instagram on Tuesday, November 18, that her grandmother had passed away. “My sweet Yiayiamoo,” she wrote alongside photos of the two of them over the years. “You were my first best friend and my safest place in this world.”

Victoria continued, “Being with you always felt like home and every meal you made, every old movie we watched, every arm tickle and ‘I love you’ is a part of me now. Up until your very last breath you were the strongest woman I’ve ever known and I promise to always and forever keep your memory alive.”

She concluded her post by writing, “Forever your Kouklamou. I love you eternally.”

Among the people sending Victoria well-wishes in the post’s comments was Help! I Wrecked My House star Jasmine Roth. “Such beautiful photos – you look so much alike! Sending lots of love,” she wrote. Renovation Island‘s Sarah Baeumler added in a comment of her own, “Sending love & prayers xx❤️.”

Several fans shared their own condolences in the post’s comments. “I’m so sorry Alison! Sending you so much love.❤️,” one person wrote, while another stated, “She got to see you thriving and that is the best gift we can ever receive. To see the people we love doing so very well.”

Someone else shared, “You have my deepest sympathy. A Grandma who is also a best friend is one of life’s sweetest blessings. Sending prayers for comfort in the days ahead ❤️🙏.” A different user commented, “She is so beautiful! these pictures are everything 🥺 love you.”

Victoria’s Instagram slideshow featured snaps of herself with her grandmother from her childhood all the way to the present day. The post’s last slide featured a funny video of her grandmother asking her Amazon Alexa to “fart.” The device played a fart noise, sparking laughter from the two of them.

“Leave it to the college kids to ask all kinds of stupid things,” her grandmother quipped.

Earlier this year, Victoria moved her HGTV series Windy City Rehab from Chicago to Las Vegas, launching Sin City Rehab in September. The show follows Victoria as she expands her design business and takes on multi-million-dollar renovation projects.

“Vegas has always been home to me. I moved here when I was 19. I went to college here. I started my design firm here and got my first big jobs here,” Victoria exclusively told TV Insider ahead of the show’s premiere. “This is such a place of happiness for me. When I’m in Chicago, I would only be able to come back a couple of times a year. Those times were just the happiest times. For me, it was a sense of trying to get back out West. I’ve been really longing for it for a while and working towards it.”

She continued, “When your life is all in Chicago, it’s very difficult. It’s almost like you need to have a hard stop and fully dive in. At this place in my life, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. I’m not going to be able to show up and be like, ‘You know I’m on television, so I should get jobs.’ I’m established as a designer. I’ve been designing since I was a little girl. It’s all I’ve ever wanted.”
