What To Know

  • Whitney Leavitt received rave reviews for her Viennese waltz in the Dancing With the Stars Semifinals.
  • While reacting to the comments, she shouted out an expletive, which was bleeped out during the live broadcast.
  • An unedited version of the clip reveals what she actually said, which prompted shocked reactions from fellow cast members.

The team in the Dancing With the Stars control room had to work quickly after Whitney Leavitt shouted an expletive during the live November 18 episode.

Leavitt received rave reviews from the judges for her Viennese waltz, and while chatting with cohost Julianne Hough in the skybox, she opened up about what this competition has meant to her. “I feel like this little girl whose dreams are coming true and more than ever on this show, I feel like those are attainable.”

The cameras cut to Carrie Ann Inaba applauding, and the feed suddenly went silent. When the feed cut back to Leavitt, she was excitedly celebrating with partner Mark Ballas, but the other pro dancers and stars in the background had shocked expressions on their faces.

The audio came back in as Leavitt was laughing, and Hough said, “Well, we’re going to have to bleep that!”

Luckily, a TikTok user was able to capture the unedited version of the clip, which showed Leavitt screaming,”I f**king love this show!”

After her two dances of the night, Leavitt scored a total of 58 out of 60 points, putting her in second place on the leaderboard. She and Alix Earle were tied behind Robert Irwin, who held the No. 1 spot. However, despite three other contestants scoring lower than her (Elaine Hendrix, Jordan Chiles, and Dylan Efron), Leavitt was still sent home (eliminations are made based on the judges’ scores and viewer votes combined).

Still, she left the competition with her head held high. “I already feel like a winner. This show has meant the absolute world for me,” Leavitt said after the results were read. “It’s changed my life, and I will forever be so grateful for the friendships I’ve made. To have this experience, thank you so, so much!”

In a post-show interview with Good Morning America, Ballas admitted he and his partner had a “gut feeling” that they were going home. “Yeah,” Leavitt added. “We felt it.”
