What’s Worth Watching: SAG Awards Let Actors Celebrate Actors
The 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (Sunday, 1/25, 8/7c, TNT/TBS)
They may not be the drunken mess that the Golden Globes is, but the SAGs don’t have a host, clock in at a manageable two hours, and just about all the attendees are pretty.
Some of the TV nominees are woefully predictable; Downton Abbey and Modern Family continue to be baffling favorites, given the depth of the drama and comedy fields. But there are at least a couple of potential surprises: Tatiana Maslany, who plays six different characters on BBC America’s Orphan Black, is nominated, and Amy Poehler might finally get some well-deserved recognition from fellow actors for her outstanding work on NBC’s Parks and Recreation.
