‘Pit Bulls and Parolees’ to End With Season 19 — Watch the Emotional Trailer (VIDEO)
After 18 seasons of helping pit bulls find forever homes, Animal Planet‘s Pit Bulls and Parolees will end with Season 19, TV Insider can exclusively reveal. The Pit Bulls and Parolees final season announcement also comes with the trailer for the upcoming season, premiering Saturday, October 22 on Animal Planet. For over 30 years, Tia Torres and her family have gone above and beyond to give a second chance at life to pit bulls at Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest Pit Bull rescue center in the U.S., while also offering parolees a new start as staff and volunteers. In Pit Bulls and Parolees Season 19, audiences will witness higher stakes as Tia and the Villalobos crew strive to give every dog an opportunity to find their forever home and a second chance at life. And while this may be the end of one chapter, the story of redemption and rescue continues for Tia and her Villalobos family in their never-ending battle to save man and man’s best friend.
In the season premiere, the Villalobos Rescue Center is tested as Hurricane Ida bears down on Louisiana, leaving Tia and the rest of the crew to race to move the rescue dogs to shelter from the intense storm. Viewers will also see Mariah take the reins for her first solo wolf-dog rescue named Dorothy from the streets of Louisiana, while Lizzy and Earl help a music-loving couple from Kentucky find their dream dog.
Additionally, the Season 19 premiere continues Animal Planet’s annual “You Watch, We Give” tradition, where for every viewer that tunes in to watch the October 22 episode, kicking off at 9/8c, Animal Planet will donate $1.00 to Villalobos Rescue Center up to the amount of $20,000. The funds will go toward food and shelter needs for rescued pit bulls.
Later this season, audiences will see Tia and daughter-in-law Lizzy answer a distress call from a shelter in Mississippi and take on eight hound dogs in desperate condition; the Villalobos team prep to welcome the public for a volunteer day as the new Villalobos Rescue Center location nears completion; daughter Mariah and her older brother Moe put their motorcycle passion to work by building a motorcycle sidecar in honor of her recently deceased dog, Tater, in order to give rides to older dogs at the rescue; and Apple, a senior dog who finally finds their forever home. Audiences will also witness Tia hire her first female parolee in Villalobos History to the team to see if she’ll be the right fit as a dog trainer and dog handler.

I feel badly that this show will be ending, for I enjoy watching what miracles can happen for the most misunderstood breed, the pit bull. I think it is so commendable what Tia and her family does.

I’ve watched this show since day 1. I know it could be a strain on the family, but if Tia & her family started the life saving show educating people in regards to Pit Bulls specifically. The Animal Planet as the sponsor they became sooo popular. I wish they would reconsider. I read all the articles but still don’t have a answer that makes any sense.

I am totally heartbroken over ending this show, because it is prime example of pitbull and parolees rehabilitation. I was also wondering why the episode intro was changed, removing Tia's mission statement. I have watched this show since day-1 and always felt so empowered with such a meaningful introduction...even when watching a recording, I would never skip thru it. Maybe it's partly political? Idk. But I do know I was looking forward to offspring continuing Tia's amazing masterpiece.

Am very angry with Warner about this. I love this show & have watched it from the beginning. I will be so sorry to see it end. This really makes me sick, every time I find shows I like they discontinue them. I am very, very upset about this...

Ending the series is both good and bad news for me. Good news that I'll have one less expense (I'll be ditching the network) and bad news that there'll be no more PBandP after this season is up.

I was so happy to hear the show was coming back but very disappointed to hear it was the final season.Why?It's such a great show.I love Tia and her kids,the grand kids and the parolees.They are all so dedicated to the dogs.Maybe Animal Planet could have a Pitbull and Parolee Special sometime.

I also watched from day one & I am 90 I learned a lot from Tia I will miss the show a lot & also your wonderful family please reconsider I know it must take up your time that you don’t have enough of as it is but you have changed the thinking of many people & I know there are so many more that still haven’t seen your show not to mentio the adoption of many many sweet dogs

Very sad to hear this. If Tia Marie wants to continue this style of Saving Pit Bulls, let it be done. I don't like to see a Pit Bull living in a New Owner's Home, back in a Cage as before Owned. This is torchure by any means. Tia Marie along with Family, & worker's trained these Dogs to be well behaved. "Earl the Pearl!"

Very upset that Animal Planet has made the decision to stop airing this show! I'm hoping some other network will pick up this amazing program and not worry about their profits. We love this show and look forward to seeing it on another network that cares about its viewers!!

show is beyond me!! What will take its place?... I know, how about a show about a group of snooty tiger females, flaunting their wealth, vacations & their stockpiles of various exotic animals/parts in their freezer (you know... for the dinner parties) while talking crap & backstabbing their friends... all while planning their next group kill. And call it 'The Real Housewives of The Animal Kingdom'. 🤣 I know right??... It sounds as ridiculous as cancelling PB & P!! just sayin'
