Critics Choice Awards 2022: ‘Ted Lasso’, ‘Succession’, ‘Squid Game’ Have Big Night

Ted Lasso, Succession, Squid Game
Apple TV+ / HBO / Netflix

The Critics Choice Awards celebrated the latest in film and television on Sunday night from the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

After being postponed for two months due to the COVID-19 omicron variant, hosts Taye Diggs (All American) and Nicole Byer (Grand Crew) presided over the ceremony as it bestowed honors on shows including Succession, The White Lotus, Mare of Easttown, and Yellowjackets.

Apple TV+’s soccer comedy Ted Lasso led the night with four wins, including for Best Comedy and Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Jason Sudeikis. HBO’s Succession picked up three awards, including Best Drama, while Netflix’s Korean hit Squid Game, Showtime’s Yellowjackets, HBO’s The White Lotus, and Disney+’s What If…? all picked up their first trophies.
