‘Moon Knight’: New Clips of Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke in Disney+ Marvel Series (VIDEO)

Marvel is sharing a new behind-the-scenes look at Moon Knight, coming to Disney+ March 30. The Moon Knight featurette dives into Steven Grant’s (Oscar Isaac) struggle with the effects of dissociative identity disorder, plus a closer look at the show’s story.
Moon Knight follows Grant, “a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”
The new Moon Knight clips show Isaac, costars Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy, Marvel president Kevin Feige, and director Mohamed Diab explain the world of the series and how they approached Steven’s mental health struggles. Possibly the most exciting reveal comes right at the beginning, when Marc Spector’s mask magically envelopes Isaac’s face.
“The fun of Moon Knight is getting introduced to a new superhero in a new world,” Hawke, who plays Moon Knight‘s villain, Arthur Harrow, says.
“It’s a real, legitimate character study,” Isaac says, adding, “our job was to put a lens on the things that had the most dramatic juice, and ultimately take the mental health aspect incredibly seriously.”
“The way we’re tackling the story, we learn about Steven, and then learn about Marc,” Diab says. “And they’re the same person.”
“The tone is like Fight Club meets Indiana Jones,” Calamawy notes. “To tie it into something so vast and supernatural, it’s amazing.”

The video shows some never-before-seen moments from the upcoming series, including clips of Hawke’s villainous persona and exciting Egyptian landscapes. At one point, a giant bolt of what looks like purple lighting shoots out of the top of a pyramid. Other clips show the museum where Steven works, which of course has an exhibit on ancient Egypt.
Hawke says the Marvel series has “shifted the paradigm.”
“Every aspect of this show has a duality,” he said.
One thing that’s guaranteed about the series, according to Isaac, is its “unpredictability.”
Moon Knight is executive produced by Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Grant Curtis, Brad Winderbaum, Isaac, Diab, and Jeremy Slater. It’s co-executive produced by Trevor Waterson and Rebecca Kirsch. Slater serves as head writer.
