Peacock‘s Pitch Perfect (a working title) comedy series is taking shape as the Universal Television production adds Sarah Hyland, Lera Abova, and Jameela Jamil to the project.

Together, they’ll join previously announced stars Adam Devine and Flula Borg as series regulars. The streamer also unveiled that production on the series is officially set to begin soon in Berlin, Germany.

Set several years after the events of the Pitch Perfect movie franchise, Devine reprises his role as Bumper Allen who moves to Germany to revive his music career after one of his songs becomes a big hit in Berlin. Borg is also reprising his role as Piëter Krämer, first introduced in 2015’s Pitch Perfect 2.

Best known for her role in Modern Family, Hyland will portray Heidi, Piëter and Bumper’s slightly odd, but cheery American assistant. With big music dreams of her own, Heidi hones her singer-songwriter skills by performing original songs in a Berlin cabaret.

Meanwhile, The Good Place‘s Jamil has been cast as Gisela, a flashy, up-and-coming German pop star who is Bumper’s main rival at the German Unity Day concert and Piëter’s ex-girlfriend. And Abova will play Piëter’s sister who happens to be a prominent Berlin DJ and music producer that performs in clubs all over the city as DJ Das Boot.

Pitch Perfect‘s movie franchise kicked off in 2012 and included three installments, the last of which premiered in 2017. The new series is executive produced by Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman, Paul Brooks, Scott Neimeyer, Adam Devine, and the series showrunner and writer Megan Aram.

Stay tuned for more details as Pitch Perfect gears up for its Berlin-set production this year.
