‘Central Park’ First Look: Bitsy & Helen Get Gout in Season 2 (VIDEO)

Ready for a stroll? Apple TV+‘s musical animated sitcom Central Park is resuming Season 2 this week, and we’ve got an early peek at the return episode, “A Boat-iful Mind.”

The exclusive clip above — more on that in a minute — is actually an offering from the first of a trio of new episodes, with all three available on the streamer on Friday, March 4, followed by new episodes dropping weekly through Friday, April 8. “A Boat-iful Mind,” takes the series’ usual format of telling multiple stories within the Central Park-dwelling Tillerman family, as well as what’s new with their nemesis, rich, old crone Bitsy Brandenham (voiced by Stanley Tucci), who plots to purchase the expansive park with the help of her snarky assistant Helen (a hilarious Daveed Diggs).

At the beginning of this half of the season, however, Bitsy is down for the count with a case of gout. And so is, it seems, Helen, who claims the incoming foot disease is “definitely not from eating [Bitsy’s] leftovers.” As omniscient narrator/busker Birdie (voiced by executive producer Josh Gad) points out, gout is sometimes called “rich person’s disease” due to consuming overly rich food and drink.

While the two women contend with the consequences of their expensive tastes, the Tillerman children face their own dilemmas. Energetic Cole (Tituss Burgess) gets a bad grade on a geometry test that sends him — literally — down a musical spiral. And his big sister Molly (Emmy Raver-Lampman) isn’t faring much better. A new cartoon she draws for the school paper gets rave reviews but doesn’t bring her the creative joy she finds with her self-referential Fista-Puffs superhero series.
