‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Sneak Peek: Why People Are Calling Owen ‘One Night Strand’ (VIDEO)
Captain Owen Strand (Rob Lowe) is back at the 126 where he belongs (along with everyone else) and possibly getting his love life back on track… depending on how you look at his recent choices. If you ask firefighter Mateo Chavez (Julian Works), he may want to rethink things, as seen in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s February 7 episode.
“I thought I heard a scream,” Owen remarks when he joins Mateo in the kitchen, and the problem is that his roommate did, too — the night before when the captain brought a woman home. “The walls are very thin around here,” Mateo explains. The reason for his “disappointment,” not judgement, he continues once the woman leaves, is that “you’ve been personally interacting every night this week.”
But Owen argues, “You are exaggerating, and by the way, I don’t think that’s very sex-positive of you.” It’s not an exaggeration, however. “I’m not the only one” who is noticing, Mateo reveals. “You know people at the firehouse are starting to call you One Night Strand?”
Owen doesn’t see a reason to be ashamed, but Mateo assures him that he shouldn’t be, though they do know the reason behind Owen’s recent behavior. Watch the clip above for more, including Mateo’s theory and what Owen does and doesn’t know about the woman he was with the night before.
But maybe Amy Acker’s Catherine will change all this. After all, “Child Care” will see his first date with the Chief of Staff to the governor of Texas, though it goes awry. Also in this episode, the 126 find a couple’s young daughter is missing at the scene of a house fire, and Judd (Jim Parrack) meets a teenager who has a profound impact on him.
