Starz‘s next Power spinoff, Power Book IV: Force is nearly here and we’re sharing an exclusive first look at Tommy Egan’s (Joseph Sikora) time in Chicago.

Kicking off on Sunday, February 6, the series follows Tommy as he puts New York in his rearview mirror following the loss of Ghost (Omari Hardwicke), LaKeisha (La La Anthony), and the sense of home he had there. With his sights set on Los Angeles, Tommy’s dropping by Chicago on the way, in hopes of healing an old wound that’s been haunting him for decades.

During the pit stop though, Tommy’s plan for a quick detour is quickly torn to shreds as the visit transforms into a sequence of family secrets and lies that he believes were long buried. In the first look clip, below, from the premiere episode, “A Short Fuse and a Long Memory,” a new acquaintance makes a connection with Tommy and warns him against making an enemy of the Flynn family.

“I like the way you handle yourself, you show restraint,” a mystery man tells Tommy as they congregate outside of a meeting spot for an event they’re both attending. Appreciative of the compliment, Tommy says “thanks.”

“I respect that,” the man reiterates, adding, “I didn’t catch your name.” Tommy is quick to observe the question being posed though as answers bluntly, saying “I didn’t throw it.” This only raises more questions from the man who says Tommy’s decision to leave the event is “probably a wise choice after pissing off the Flynn family.”

But who are the Flynn family? This question among others will be answered in the series which sees a Chicago divided by race where Tommy straddles the line and has the potential to become a lynchpin that unites them and holds the power to watch them crumble.
