Firefighter Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark) is going to have some competition when it comes to taking risks.

Arielle Kebbel has joined 9-1-1 in the recurring role of LAFD firefighter Lucy Donato, Deadline reports. While Lucy is a member of a rival firehouse (147), she works with the 118 on a rescue. She is described as “super confident, fearless and as quick at making life or death decisions as she is at speaking her mind” and is called Buck’s “daredevil counterpart.”

We’ll first meet Lucy in the spring premiere, airing on Monday, March 21. 9-1-1 returns then, in its usual time slot of 8/7c (pushing the Lone Star spinoff back to 9/8c with the first responder dramas airing back-to-back again), after being on hiatus since December 6. Then, firefighter Eddie Diaz (Ryan Guzman) announced his plans to leave the 118 after his son revealed he wanted the perfect Christmas since he expected him to be dead next year. Guzman isn’t leaving the show, but we’ll have to wait to see what comes next for him career-wise.

Also when 9-1-1 returns, Fox has teased, Athena (Angela Bassett), Bobby (Peter Krause) and the 118 “speed” to the rescue to save a family whose pick-up truck has been rigged with a pipe bomb which will detonate if the vehicle slows under 55 miles an hour. Plus, Buck makes an impulsive relationship decision, and the 118 welcome two new members to the team. Will Kebbel’s Lucy end up being one of them?

Kebbel’s TV credits include Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector, Grand HotelMidnight, Texas, and The Vampire Diaries.
