This reimagining of the story told in the 1978 film will reintroduce fans to old characters as well as new ones. Like the film and the musical upon which it's based, this series will also be set in the '50s as it follows the lives of Rydell High students.
Reboots and revivals are all the rage when it comes to television and even streaming services are getting in on the action.
In 2019, a number of fan-favorite series were picked up for a reboot or revival, and many are headed to upcoming streaming platforms HBO Max and Peacock. Disney+ and Apple TV+, which have already launched, both have revivals and reboots in the works, as well.
