‘The Thursday Murder Club’ Trailer: Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan & More Solve Mysteries (VIDEO)

From cold cases to a murder close to home — there’s a new group of sleuths coming to our screens this summer on Netflix.

The streaming service will debut The Thursday Murder Club in August. Its star-studded cast includes Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie. On Thursday, May 29, the streaming service released a trailer and key art introducing the characters and teasing the mystery they’ll be solving. The main members of the titular group are played by Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie. The cast also includes Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E. Grant, and Ingrid Oliver.

Chris Columbus directed the screenplay by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote. Jo Burn, Richard Osman, Eleanor Columbus, Holly Bario, and Jeb Brody serve as executive producers. Jennifer Todd and Chris Columbus are producers.

Yes! It’s based on Richard Osman’s international bestselling novel of the same name, the first in his series.

Four books have been published: The Thursday Murder Club (2020), The Man Who Died Twice (2021), The Bullet That Missed (2022), and The Last Devil To Die (2023). A fifth, The Impossible Fortune, is set to be published on September 25, 2025.
