‘The Rookie’ Puts Liam Glasser’s Life in Danger, Plus Sela Ward Returns (VIDEO)
No one’s happy with the LAPD’s assignment in the Monday, April 20, episode of The Rookie — well, maybe except for the person they must protect. He seems to be enjoying himself, even if it’s because he’s been shot at and his life is in danger. We’ll have to see what this means for this storyline potentially carrying over into Season 9.
It’s none other than serial killer Liam Glasser (Seth Gabel), who really should be locked up but is instead free due to turns in the pre-trial work, and the preview, which you can watch above, shows that, after a drive-by shooting, there’s blood on his shirt as he raises his glass to the officers, who now must provide round-the-clock protection.
“You’re my bodyguard?” Liam asks Nolan (Nathan Fillion). He seems to be having fun with it, asking about Nyla (Mekia Cox) and even telling Miles (Deric Augustine), “Tell her I’ve been thinking about her.”
Watch the end of the preview to see why we can’t help but wonder just how much longer Liam will be a problem.
In addition to Nolan being tested by having to protect this man he doesn’t trust, “Out of Time” will see Lucy (Melissa O’Neil) and Celina (Lisseth Chavez) follow a promising lead and Angela (Alyssa Diaz) find herself conflicted about Wesley’s (Shawn Ashmore) new position. Remember, he quit the DA’s office after losing the campaign to Vivian (Necar Zadegan), and Sean (Michael Trucco) followed in his footsteps.
The photos, which you can check out below, show that Trucco’s back, so we’ll be getting an update on what’s going on there. Also returning are Bridget Regan as Monica, obviously up to no good again (we doubt she’ll surprise us), and Sela Ward as Tim’s (Eric Winter) mom — and she’s visiting him at work!
