The Boys may be over, but the final season set up a major foundation for its upcoming prequel spinoff, Vought Rising, as Season 5 uncovered plenty of Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) lore.

Now that there’s an official teaser, fans are getting an even closer look at the action to come. Here, we’re taking a closer peek at the teases made in the flagship show so far and how they may shape the story viewers see when Vought Rising eventually arrives onscreen in 2027.

Fort Harmony

In Season 5 of The Boys, Soldier Boy visits Fort Harmony, which turns out to be the location where he was shot up with V-1, transforming him into a supe. The site clearly holds a plethora of memories for the character, and hopefully, we’ll uncover that further in Vought Rising.

V-1

Soldier Boy and many of his fellow supes of the time were supposedly transformed with V-1, a specific formula of Compound-V that would ultimately make them immortal. Considering the evolution of the supe-making formula, maybe Vought Rising will delve deeper into the injectable.

Vought's Trials

While at Fort Harmony, Soldier Boy and other recruits to Vought’s supe program were put through various trials, among which included radiation exposure, as viewers uncovered during his visit to the location with Homelander (Antony Starr), the latter of whom was locked in the chamber as a form of punishment.

Soldier Boy's Beef With Quinn

Part of Fort Harmony’s eerie charm in Season 5 of The Boys had to do with Quinn (Kris Hagen), a former colleague/recruit of Soldier Boy’s, whom he had a strong hate for. Partially sparked by Quinn’s apparent power, which caused anyone within a certain radius of his festering, fungi-like body to turn hostile against everyone, Soldier Boy’s encounter with Quinn certainly sparked something, and we have a feeling there’s more history to potentially uncover in Vought Rising.

Soldier Boy's Brother

During a conversation between Homelander and Soldier Boy, viewers uncovered that part of the reason Soldier Boy sought out Vought and his supe trials was in direct correlation with the fact that his brother was hailed for his heroism and bravery, even earning a silver star for his military service. Could there be room to explore that brother relationship in Vought Rising? We’re hoping so.

Bombsight

Bombsight (Mason Dye) was also among the supes rising to action at the time of Soldier Boy, and viewers got a brief glimpse at his history, particularly with his love for fellow supe, Golden Geisha (Naoko Mori). Could Vought Rising tease the origins of that romance, considering Bombsight’s series regular role in the prequel? We’d be surprised if it doesn’t.

Soldier Boy's Affection for Clara Vought

There’s some romantic history between Soldier Boy and Clara Vought, a.k.a. Stormfront (Aya Cash), which was teased throughout his story in The Boys‘ final season. Considering they’re the leads of Vought Rising, we’d anticipate Soldier Boy and Clara’s onscreen romance to be explored further in the new series, along with her past as Liberty, a supe who committed racist crimes.

Propoganda

From what viewers know about Stormfront, she was a Nazi, a white supremacist supe, whose vision for the country included a non-diverse America. As teased when Soldier Boy and Homelander visited Marathon Man’s (Jared Padalecki) home, various merchandise and memorabilia depicting Soldier Boy’s golden days can also be interpreted as blatant propaganda. That push for Soldier Boy’s “all-American” persona, coupled with Stormfront’s racist objective, makes for one dangerous recipe.

MM's Family

Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) revealed in Season 3 of The Boys that Soldier Boy recklessly killed some of his family in the past, when the supe threw a car at a building. His carelessness for collateral damage led to the demise of many, and perhaps Vought Rising could further explore the impact Soldier Boy had on MM’s family, as well as the others who were impacted by his “heroic” antics.
