‘S.W.A.T.’ Says Goodbye to Street — Watch Promo for Alex Russell’s Final Episode (VIDEO)
S.W.A.T. is saying goodbye to one of its own, and the character has certainly come a long way. In fact, the promo for the March 8 episodes—two air back-to-back, starting at 8/7c—highlights just that.
It’s “One Final Farewell,” the video, which you can watch above, reveals. “I never thought the screw-up I had to fire would be the one I’d have the hardest time saying goodbye to,” Hondo (Shemar Moore) tells Street (Alex Russell). The second of the two episodes is Russell’s last.
For S.W.A.T.‘s final season, Russell and Kenny Johnson (who plays Luca) are no longer series regulars (notably missing from the opening credits). It was in the second episode that their onscreen absences were explained, in a conversation between Tan (David Lim) and Deacon (Jay Harrington). Street is with Long Beach SWAT (and has gotten the nickname Hollywood), whipping them into shape. Luca’s in counter-terrorism training in London (and enjoying the night life).
Now, the second of the episodes airing on March 8 brings Street back to his team. But first, in “Spare Parts,” at 8/7c, SWAT hunts down a Chilean arms dealer after he kidnaps a woman and her daughter from a party in L.A. with unexpected intentions. Tan crosses paths with his brother and is forced to come clean to his family about his divorce from Bonnie. Plus, Hondo discovers that Hicks (Patrick St. Esprit) has received a job offer that could lure him away from SWAT.
Then, in the aptly-titled “End of the Road,” while training with Long Beach SWAT, Street discovers a biker club has stolen a cache of armor-piercing bullets and brings 20-Squad into the hunt for the gang before they can pull off a daring and deadly heist. And as Hondo struggles with changes at work, Nichelle (Rochelle Aytes) finds herself at odds with her former colleague Bruce (who took a bribe forged her signature on a contract). They should keep all the characters until the end! They shouldn't be canceled Period! Also should be able to have the last season at least be an entire season, not just half!

I thought they were supposed to make this an ending that the fans would be happy with, so far the show is a major waste of time. So very disappointing

I want all the characters to return to the show, they all made the show, they should all be together until it ends.

I am SOOO disappointed in this new season. If this was how they were going to do it, they should have left it at season 6, and been done with it.
Do they really expect that after all that Street went through to get back into LA SWAT, that he would just "decide" that he all of a sudden wanted to go to Long Beach? Come on, give us a break! Fans aren't stupid, and we deserve better!
And don't get me started on our beloved Luca! Luca?? You're going to take our community hero, who drives Black Betty like no one else, and say that he loves his life in London? Really?
The other disappointment was NOT having a Hondo/Nichelle wedding, so that instead, we could watch them save the new girl that we care nothing about, from some guy in Mexico? We already got cheated out of a Derek/Savannah wedding on CM, so we lose here too??
I watched the first 3 episodes, and am severely disappointed in this season. I don't even know if I will bother with the rest of the season, as I am not interested in HOW they write Luca and Street OUT!!
Such a sad and disappointing ending to a great show.

Total disappointment that they won’t finish last season with all the characters. Street and Luca made show too bad ending like this.

I wish they had left all of them for the last season, I miss street for sure and Luca, it doesn't feel the same now. If this is the case. Good thing it's the last season. The episodes are just not the same. They just mess up a good thing.

I don't really care about Street or Luca. But I do think that sometimes Jay Harrington is a little too sanctimonious, and I cant' believe the show had him shirtless, to show off his six-pack. Also, I too don't care about Hondo's home life.... I just want to see the SWAT guys kicking butt on the bad guys.

I am a very big fan of swat and all the players. I love Tan, Street and Hondo..love them all, also missing Chris.. I really hope and pray that the show continues. I look forward to the show every Friday night. Hopefully it all works out. A fan always for life. Stay liquid 👍

I think CBS did a poor job in choosing what should be canceled and what to replace them with magnum was a very good show and Swat was another then they chose Elsbeth to take their place who wants to watch some woman to act so stupid as a detective don't waste my time I'm not watching her

The show should have ended last season. But Shemar played the race card and CBS caved. We lose Street and Luca, who are the best characters on the show….but we get more of Shemar at home with the wife….nobody cares about. All for his ego.

They were original SWAT. They deserved to stay until the end not those 2 new girls & new guy who add nothing to the squad!! Can you tell I'm disappointed ☹️ d

I wish that the two main characters could have been in the final 13 episodes. I just don't want any of them being "killed off". Let the show end on a happy note. It was a really great show.

Not remotely impressed with the first three episodes and insulted they think the fans wanted things this way. This is an insult to Street and Luca. They should have just let it end in 6 if this was how they thought 7 should work. Demoting them for 13 episodes of trash is ridiculous.

that it is scandalous to let Street and Luca disappear, they deserve to stay in it until the end, they are part of the permanent team. If only out of respect, Alex and Kenny sailed. that they leave out all the rest who only participated for 1 season or let those guest play roles but not the 2 best actors participate. I'm really sorry about that

Can't help but wonder/ask: Did the Street+Luca actors get injured or other TV offers in real life? Or maybe not everyone wanted to come back for a full season? Did some actors ask for more money- that's why it's 1/2 a season + missing characters? Just curious...

It’s really crappy it’s ending and I was so hoping that Chris would come back just so her and Street could get married they deserve it. Luca is just awesome and he should be in every episode and the same for street. I was thinking they would aleast give them all the same amount of screen time. I will miss this show but as always they get rid of the good ones to put dumb ones on.
