Shining Vale will soon return to haunt viewers. Starz announced the premiere date for the Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear-led horror comedy on Tuesday, August 15, along with releasing the first-look photos from the season. And the network promises that the haunted house will reveal more of its ghoulish past in the new episodes.

Season 1 introduced Pat (Cox) and Terry (Kinnear) Phelps, parents of a “a dysfunctional family that tried to run from their problems by moving their kids into a Victorian mansion in small-town Connecticut,” Starz describes. The one problem with the home is that it comes with some unwelcome guests. Once settled in, Pat met Rosemary (Mira Sorvino), a demon who possessed her body and turned her life upside down. When the family steps in to “save” Pat, they committed her to a psychiatric hospital where she saw an old photo of a nurse who looks just like Rosemary.

Season 2 kicks off four months later, “when Pat’s insurance runs out and she is released from the psychiatric hospital early,” the logline describes. “Pat returns home, determined to pick up the pieces of her broken family, but she quickly finds out her children don’t need her, Terry doesn’t remember her and to make matters worse, Pat’s new neighbor Ruth looks exactly like Rosemary. Meanwhile, the house starts to reveal the shocking secrets of its dark past. Every mother feels like they live in an insane asylum, but Pat may be right!”

Shining Vale Season 2 premieres on a particularly spooky day: Friday, October 13, at 9/8c. The premiere will drop on the Starz app at midnight ET, in addition to all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms. New episodes will come out once a week. The series also stars Gus Birney, Merrin Dungey, and Dylan Gage, and features Emmy Award nominees Judith Light, Allison Tolman, and Sherilyn Fenn.

The series is executive produced by Jeff Astrof from Other Shoe Productions, Sharon Horgan and Clelia Mountford from Merman, and Aaron Kaplan and Melanie Frankel from Kapital Entertainment. Cox also serves as a producer. The series is co-created by Astrof and Horgan and is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Lionsgate Television in association with Other Shoe Productions, Merman, and Kapital Entertainment.

Shining Vale Season 2 is one part of Starz’s spooky season programming. In addition to the horror comedy, Starz will be the exclusive horror-home to The Blackening, The Hills Have Eyes 2, Prey for the Devil, Black Friday, The Craft: Legacy, The Grudge (2020), The Strangers: Prey at Night, and home to the iconic horror films: Scream 4, Leprechaun, Zombieland: Double Tap, the Saw Franchise, and more.

Check out the first photos from the season below. Things are looking rather bleak for Pat in that psychiatric hospital.
