It's going to be back to work as usual in the New Amsterdam Season 2 premiere — at least for part of it.

As series star Ryan Eggold revealed in the Season 2 first look, the new season picks up a few months after the finale ambulance crash and will feature flashbacks to the immediate aftermath. While that preview offered a sneak peek at the injured in the hospital — including Helen (Freema Agyeman), Bloom (Janet Montgomery), and Georgia (Lisa O'Hare) — the promotional photos for the premiere focus on other patients after the time jump.

'Someone indeed dies,' executive producer Peter Horton told TV Insider.

As you can see in the gallery above, that includes Max himself, with his new oncologist, Dr. Valentina Castro (Ana Villafane). She's "whip-smart and enthusiastic" and Helen fired her in the past, according to TVLine. That should make for quite the interesting dynamic.
