Catherine Bell’s Mac Enlists ‘NCIS: LA’ to Investigate a Navy Chief (VIDEO)
Catherine Bell returns as Marine Lieutenant Colonel Sarah “Mac” MacKenzie to NCIS: Los Angeles — she was last seen in the Season 11 premiere — and this time, she’s the one who needs help.
In the April 26 episode, “Code of Conduct,” airing at a special time (10/9c), Mac asks NCIS to help with a sensitive case after two SEALs claim their chief murdered an unarmed prisoner. That sends Sam (LL Cool J), Callen (Chris O’Donnell), and Roundtree (Caleb Castille) to Afghanistan, while, as you can see in the photos below, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) work with Mac in L.A.

Bell’s appearances bookend the season — Episode 22 is the last new one — and could this end up leading to a JAG reboot? “Never say never,” executive producer R. Scott Gemmill told TV Insider.

If Hetty leaves ( I hope not for a very long time) I think Mac would be a great fit for her position. I can’t imagine though, NCIS without the great Linda Hunt

No, she wouldn't. if a JAG reboot is to happen, she needs to be avalieable. and did you read the new TV Guide issue? it clearly says Hetty will be in S12!!

If a JAG reboot ultimately doesn't come to pass, a bigger role on NCIS LA would be welcome for Mac IMO.

From memory Mac was latterly a Lieutenant Colonel in Jag.

Some real problems with Mac's rank... She started Jag in 1996 as a Major... Maybe they'll explain it if the character sticks around... maybe they won't... Meannwhile, CB's new season of Good Witch kicks off the following Sunday at the same time as NCIS/LA but on Hallmark..

I haven’t been watching lately, no time. Can someone please tell me why Mac is still a Lt Colonel? ThT was her rank when JAG ended and I expected that by now she would be a general of some level.

I guess she lost her colonel rank (eagle). That's the last rank she wore on JAG.

Hetty will be back in S12 (per new TV Guide issue), and just why would Mac replace her? there would be no JAG reboot without Mac.

I think this is a great idea if(when) Linda Hunt leaves the series. Better yet, make Mac recurring now so she can just slide into an expanded role later. Best outcome IMO would be a full fledged JAG reboot.
