Vic (Barrett Doss)

Vic did just lose Ripley, but remember: Station 19 doesn’t return until the midseason. That could give her time to mourn and perhaps be ready for a new relationship by the time the series begin planting the seeds for one, but it’s very likely she’ll be staying single.

Potential match: Lincoln or Koracick

Lincoln (Chris Carmack)

Lincoln is currently involved in a (sort of) relationship with Amelia, and it’s likely that will have changed by midseason. But we can’t rule him out completely.

Dean (Okieriete Onaodowan)

Dean may be seeing Nikki right now, but he also just found out that she and Maya used to date, setting up drama for everyone involved (including Jack). Hopefully things still work out for Dean and Nikki — they got off to such a good start! — but it might just depend on what we find out about her and Maya’s relationship (especially why and how it ended).

Potential match: Amelia

Amelia (Caterina Scorsone)

Things might work out with Lincoln. Or maybe the best thing for Amelia to do is look outside the hospital after getting caught up in the drama with Owen and Teddy, even if Grey’s didn’t treat it like a typical love triangle.

Potential match: Ryan or Dean

ABC/Mitch Haaseth

Ryan (Alberto Frezza)

Ryan’s love life is one of the more complicated ones on the show — and he’s not even in the firehouse. He may be dating and there may be his history with Andy to consider, but he’s not entirely off the table for a new relationship.

Potential match: Amelia

ABC/Eric McCandless

Koracick (Greg Germann)

Poor Koracick was last seen putting together furniture for Teddy and the baby while Owen was professing his love for her. The guy deserves a break, and maybe the midseason will be the right time for a new relationship.

Travis (Jay Hayden)

Travis is finally ready to move on after losing his husband, and though he and Dylan were cute in the Season 2 finale, it sadly doesn’t seem likely that that will be a long-term relationship. But there is someone closer to home who has even crossed over to Station 19 already …

Potential match: Schmitt

ABC/Mitch Haaseth

Schmitt (Jake Borelli)

Schmitt and Nico were going strong — despite a hiccup — at the end of Grey’s Anatomy Season 15 and Nico had met Schmitt’s mother, but there were cracks in their relationship. Plus, Alex Landi is only recurring while Borelli is a series regular, and Nico was waiting to hear about another job. Vernoff even told The Hollywood Reporter that she wasn’t “sure where it’s all going” for that relationship after the finale.

Ready for another crossover romance in the Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 universe?

Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Ben’s (Jason George) works (primarily because it started out on Grey’s Anatomy, though it has had its hiccups, especially since he switched careers), and now the two series are looking to add a new one to the mix.

ABC is reportedly planning to 'play up the shared universe' more in the upcoming season. How they could make this work.

With Krista Vernoff as showrunner for both Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19, the two series will be “more blended” during the 2019-2020 season, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke told TVLine. That includes introducing a new romance between characters across the shows.

Ben and Bailey’s relationship proves that it can work. So who could potentially be involved in this new relationship? Click through the gallery to see the candidates, from least to most likely.
