The CW’s Heroes Mask Up in New Posters (PHOTOS)
“Real heroes wear masks.”
That’s the tagline for the CW’s newest set of posters for its superhero shows set for the 2020-2021 season: the returning Black Lightning, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl, the currently airing DC’s Stargirl, and the new Superman & Lois.
Each show has a poster — and Legends gets two, because Beebo has to have one, of course — with its main character suited up and masked up to promote and encourage the use of masks to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The pandemic affected production on The Flash Season 6 and Supergirl Season 5, leading to both airing early finales in the spring. The CW’s shows have yet to announce filming dates for their new seasons — the seventh for The Flash, the sixth for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, the fourth for Black Lightning, the second for Stargirl, and the first for Superman & Lois — but they’re not slated to return until 2021.
The only superhero show on the network not to have one of these posters is Batwoman; Javicia Leslie is taking over as the titular hero (and as a new character) for Season 2, as was announced while everything is currently on pause. (Ruby Rose exited after the first season.)
