‘Chicago Med’ Photos: Sneak Peek at Season 12 Premiere

Chaos is once again coming to the E.D. (of course) when Chicago Med returns for its 12th season, in its usual time slot on Wednesday, October 7, at 8/7c.

In the premiere, titled “Shots Fired,” NBC teases, “Gunshots at a wedding lead to chaos in the E.D. Goodwin [S. Epatha Merkerson] defends herself under threat of being fired. Hannah [Jessy Schram] makes a decision while on maternity leave.”

Check out the photos below to get a glimpse at Archer (Steven Weber) and Ripley (Luke Mitchell) at work along with the patients coming to the hospital.

As Schram told TV Insider, “We don’t know what the hospital would do without Goodwin, what that would look like. …. I think because Goodwin has fought so hard for everybody in that hospital, I could definitely say that the doctors and nurses are clearly 100 — most of us are clearly 100% behind her. So she has support on her side, but it’ll definitely be a journey to see how she handles this and her reasons why.”

As for what brings Hannah back to the hospital while on maternity leave, she’s stopped by to bring her daughter to see her father, Archer, at work when she gets pulled into helping with a medical case. That “ultimately helps her make the decision as to whether or not she’s ready to come back now that she is a mom and has had a change of pace,” Schram said.
