Big Brother fans can always expect the unexpected, but don’t expect these alums to be on Season 28. After various rumors of veteran players returning started to swirl, some of the alums put out statements about whether they would be on the upcoming season.

Season 28 premieres on July 9 in a 90-minute episode at 8/7c on CBS. While the cast has not yet been revealed (keep an eye out during premiere week), there is a lot of speculation.

Host Julie Chen Moonves told us that this season “will have something for everyone, regardless of their age.” “It’s really exciting,” she said.

The Season 28 houseguests were rumored to be sequestered on June 29, so the cast is most likely set. Even though alums have said they won’t be on the season, it is not confirmed until the cast is announced by CBS.

So, whether a player has said they won’t be in it or they have prior commitments, these are the alums who most likely won’t be on Season 28.

Taylor Hale – "Big Brother"

Taylor Hale won Season 24 of Big Brother. She was the first Black female winner. Hale is also currently the host of Big Brother: Unlocked, which airs every other Friday.

Fans say that she has gone silent on social media, leading them to believe she is on the next season.

However, if she shows up on Friday to Unlocked then fans know for sure that she is not on the season.

“Taylor Hale from Big Brother is rumored. She was asked to be on previously when still under the CBS contract and has gone suspiciously quiet the past few days. It should be confirmed by tomorrow based on if she films for Big Brother: Unlocked this week,” a Reddit user said.

Other fans said her name in the comments. Big Brother contestants have been part of the show since Season 1.

Derrick Levasseur of 'Big Brother' Season 16
Cliff Lipson / CBS

Derrick Levasseur

Derrick Levasseur won Season 16. He was known as the Mastermind of the season, making moves behind the scenes and getting others to do the dirty work.

He will not be playing on Season 28, but will be a part of it as he is the cohost of Big Brother: Unlocked alongside Taylor Hale.

Dan Gheesling 'The Traitors' Season 2
Peacock

Dan Gheesling

Dan Gheesling won Season 10 and came in second on Season 14. He planned his own (fake) funeral in Season 14 when his game was on the line, cementing him as one of the Greatest of All-Time.

Although he hasn’t put out any statements, Gheesling has been live on Twitch, a gaming streaming platform, on Monday and Tuesday, when the houseguests are rumored to be sequestered.

However, fans can see him on Season 2 of Destination X.

Franke Grande

Frankie Grande appeared on Season 16 and Reindeer Games. He has never won the game.

Grande is known for being Ariana Grande‘s brother and his glamorous outfits and makeup.

While he hasn’t put out a statement, the alum is on Broadway through mid-July. He plays Victor Garber and Luigi in Titanique.

Danielle Reyes for 'Big Brother Reindeer Games'

Danielle Reyes

Danielle Reyes has played on Seasons 3, 6, and Reindeer Games. She has never won, but is regarded as one of the greats.

Reyes sent out a video on X on June 24 stating that she would not be on the new season.

“First and foremost, I’m working. I’m not doing Big Brother 28,” Reyes said. “
I know, I know, I know, and I appreciate you guys hoping, but I haven’t been contacted by the producers.”

“I am excited that this season’s gonna be the 1000th episode of Big [Brother]. How exciting is that? I haven’t been invited to do anything for this, so you guys most likely won’t see me. So I just want to share that with you, that I’m not gonna be on the season, and just squash some rumors.”

“You guys know, I would never lie about something like that,” she ended while smirking at the camera.

Janelle Pierzina in Big Brother Season 22 All Stars
CBS

Janelle Pierzina

Janelle Pierzina has played on four seasons — 6, 7, 14, and 22. She has never won, but has gone down in history as one of the best players, breaking competitoon records.

On June 24, she tweeted, “No, I’m not doing #BB28. Between selling houses, running Airbnbs, raising three kids, and pretending I know what day it is, I don’t have time to be locked in a house for 100 days. You guys can fight over slop without me. Besides, I’m going to Greece this summer.”

Rachel Reilly in 'Big Brother' Season 27
CBS

Rachel Reilly

It is highly unlikely that Rachel Reilly will be on Season 28. She was just on Season 27 as part of the Mastermind twist.

Reilly also appeared on Seasons 12 and 13, the latter of which she won. However, she was put on back-to-back seasons before, so never say never.

No more returning contestants!! So tired of this. I want to see someone who hasn't played the game.

I had prior seasons of this show playing as background noise during COVID. I looked at it as a social experiment. I couldn’t do it. Grown people acting the way they do on the show. I am certain they don’t act that way in real life. The general public wouldn’t put up with it.
