A Steadicam operator focuses on Amell as he films one of Oliver’s choreographed throwdowns with nemesis Ricardo Diaz’s goons. It may look scary, but this hero isn’t afraid. “We always talk about how Oliver’s superpower is that he has no fear,” says Amell, who relishes the street crime-fighting scenes: “That’s when the show is at its best, for sure.”

John Diggle (David Ramsey) subbed in as Green Arrow when the FBI started investigating the original vigilante’s alter ego, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). “It introduced a new dynamic,” says Kellum, whose Mr. Terrific hunted for Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) with Harkavy’s Black Canary and Gonzalez’s Wild Dog.

“I was so excited to reunite with my Arrow family — even if that meant letting some maniac tie me down to a chair and keep me hostage,” jokes former series regular Colton Haynes (seated), who returns full-time in the fall. Haynes, who reprised his role as streetwise Roy Harper in the “Doppelgänger” episode, has been welcomed back. “I just love him!” says Ramsey.

Another warehouse, another sonic cry! Katie Cassidy practices what she calls Black Siren’s fearsome “death stare or ‘Where’s my dinner?’ look.” With Earth-2 Laurel Lance potentially going good, Schwartz says she has a new baddie in mind to make up for alter ego Black Siren.

RIP, Mayor Quentin Lance. The police officer turned politician took a bullet in the Season 6 finale, meaning original cast member Paul Blackthorne won’t return. His exit is bumming out the tight-knit Arrow family. “It is very sad,” Schwartz says. “I don’t even like to talk about it. We’re going to miss him!”

Those graphics that fill tech genius Felicity Smoak’s (Emily Bett Rickards) computer screen? Much of it is visual effects added during postproduction, according to exec producer Beth Schwartz, who says that Felicity, Diggle (Ramsey) and the Arrow team will search for another lair next season since theirs was destroyed.
