‘9-1-1’ Preview: Buck & Eddie’s Road Trip Home Takes Horrific Turn (VIDEO)

Oliver Stark told TV Insider that 9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 13 is going to be “really dark,” and he wasn’t exaggerating! ABC released the promo for the episode after the Nashville crossover, and Buck (Stark) and Eddie (Ryan Guzman) are going to be running into some serious trouble on the road back.

As the preview, which you can watch above, for the March 12 episode shows, Buck and Eddie are road-tripping back to Los Angeles from Nashville, where they represented the 118 in the firefighting games and tied for first with the 113 from the spinoff. It starts off great, with the two having fun, but since this is 9-1-1, things, of course, take a turn.

A truck comes up behind them and forces them off the road, and when Eddie comes to in the hospital and asks about his friend, he’s told, “There was nobody else in the car with you.” Buck’s sister Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is worried back home when she finds out he’s missing. Athena (Angela Bassett) suggests that someone might have picked him up while Maddie’s husband, Chimney (Kenneth Choi), stands there for support.

But what happened to Buck? Well, the end of the promo shows just that: He’s been taken. Watch above for more.

ABC has also released the official description for “Mother’s Boy: “Eddie and Buck’s flight back to Los Angeles is cancelled following the National Firefighter Games. Hoping to be home for Hen’s [Aisha Hinds] birthday, they decide a cross-country road trip is the fastest way, until they get offtrack and Buck goes missing.” Sounds like they learned after what happened last year on Hen’s birthday.

Stark told us that Episode 13 is his “favorite episode of the season. It’s really dark. It’s really different for the show. Making it felt very different and watching it feels very different. So yeah, Episode 13 is probably my favorite Buck episode of the season.”

He also teased, “Episode 13 sets him on a particular path for the rest of the season, and it’s a case of regrounding and coming back to himself post Episode 13.”

As for what’s ahead after that, expect more “really dark” episodes, “but with a nice family light to push that darkness away. So, it’s a nice, intense, but still family feeling rest of the season.”
