‘General Hospital’ to Resume Airing Original Unaired Episodes on ABC
After a brief programming hiatus due to the Trump impeachment trial, ABC’s beloved soap General Hospital is set to resume airing beginning Wednesday, January 29.
While this news is certainly exciting for viewers who have been waiting with bated breath for new episodes of the soap, there are still some intricacies to keep in mind. Television broadcasting only applies to West Coast territories and areas that are not impacted by the recent coverage of the Senate impeachment trial.
For those who have been affected, ABC is still providing other viewing options so no one misses out. Full episodes will be available for viewers each day on ABC.com and the ABC app at 8:00 p.m. EST. The day after episodes air, fans can also watch on Hulu or On Demand.
This temporary solution to the interrupted slate will continue for as long as necessary until programming returns to its normal schedule.
Currently in its 56th year, General Hospital is the longest-running American soap currently in production as well as the longest-running scripted television drama. The show, which has won 13 Emmys Awards for Outstanding Daytime Drama, was created by Frank and Doris Hursley.
