Soap star Robert Kelker-Kelly has died. The actor, known for his roles in Days of Our Lives and other favorites, such as General Hospital, was 62 years old.

Kelker-Kelly’s death was reported by TMZ, which revealed that the actor died on Saturday, October 3, with no cause of death provided at this time. The performer began his career on the soap Another World, where he played Sam Fowler beginning in 1987. He continued to play the character across nearly 500 episodes, ending his run with the role in 1998.

Despite his start on Another World, Kelker-Kelly is best known for his role as Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, in which he appeared in nearly 600 episodes. He stepped into the role in 1992 and continued with the character through 1995, taking over the part for Peter Reckell.

During his run with Days of Our Lives, Kelker-Kelly memorably acted opposite Kristian Alfonso‘s Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna‘s Billie Reed before Reckell ultimately returned to the role in 1995. While he played Bo, Kelker-Kelly married Rinna’s Billie onscreen, as seen in the photo below.

Despite the onscreen romance, Kelker-Kelly’s role in that storyline made headlines earlier this year with the release of Rinna’s memoir You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk, in which she chronicled their tense relationship. Rinna went so far as to allege that Kelker-Kelly had been verbally abusive and manipulative to the point of playing mind games with her while working on the soap together.

Rounding out his major soap runs was Kelker-Kelly’s role as Stavros Casadine in General Hospital, in which he appeared in over 40 episodes.  Kelker-Kelly’s other TV credits include Touched by an Angel, Maybe This Time, Rescue 77, and Jack’s Place, among others.

Kelker-Kelly was previously married to Linda Rattner from 1988 until 1992, when they divorced. He went on to marry Miriam Parrish in 1997, and the couple remained together until 2011. In addition to starring in soaps, Kelker-Kelly also worked as a professional pilot between 2003 and 2015.
