HBO Renews ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Veep’ and ‘Silicon Valley’
Amid talk of a shortened Seasons 7 and 8, HBO’s Game of Thrones renewal for next year doesn’t reveal how many episodes Season 7 will contain. There has been talk of a shortened Seasons 7 and 8. HBO picked up Veep and Silicon Valley for a respective sixth and fourth seasons.
The legendary musician and MTV icon, whose 2007 Super Bowl halftime show is considered one of the most memorable, was found dead early this morning at his home in Minnesota, according to TMZ. Two years ago, Prince played himself on the post-Super Bowl episode of New Girl.
MTV announced 14 new shows today, four of which revolve around music, including a hip-hop competition from Mark Burnett and a weekly music series with Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun. A reimagined Unplugged will be brought back, as will a special version of Cribs for Snapchat.

The Dr. Drew co-hosted radio staple that became an MTV series from 1996 to 2000 will sign off for good next Thursday, with the help of former co-host Adam Carolla. Loveline started in 1983 as a weekly late-night radio show about sex and relationships on KROQ, launched by the disc jockey known as The Poorman, who enlisted Dr. Drew Pinsky’s help. (The Poorman, who was fired from the show in 1993, later went on to create a brief 1994 TV version of Loveline, called The Love Channel.)

The comedian talked even more about his self-made show on today’s Marc Maron WTF podcast. In addition to teasing that Jones’ small but important role with Horace and Pete, Louis CK said: “I cry about the show a lot… I miss it a lot, you know? And I want to do it again I knew at one point, this is a 10-act play and it’s gonna be over. And there’s ways we can continue, and that bar’s in storage, and I’ve thought about writing other things and I might.
Peter Stormare will join the 89-year-old Leachman on the Starz series. Leachman will play Zorya Vechernyaya, “the eldest of three sisters who watch over the constellations, guarding against horrors forgotten by modern man.”
James Franco will be back, joined by Heather Graham, Mary McCormack, Joey McIntyre, Joe Jonas, Maya Rudolph and ER alums Naoh Wyle and Eriq La Salle.
