‘DC Super Hero Girls’ Brings New Meaning to the Term Girl Power (VIDEO)
Girls just wanna have fun, but in the DC Comics universe, they also want to save the day. DC Entertainment’s ambitious DC Super Hero Girls franchise targets a younger audience with the adventures of Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and other heroes and villains from the comic book giant’s pantheon. A series of animated shorts launched last fall, and now the campaign is expanding with a line of merchandise, plus an upcoming TV special, debuting on the Boomerang network this spring.
Here’s an exclusive look at the newest animated short, premiering later today at dcsuperherogirls.com. The voice cast includes Community/The Odd Couple star Yvette Nicole Brown as Principal Amanda Waller, plus an all-star squad of voice actors: Grey Griffin as Wonder Woman; Tara Strong as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy; Ashley Eckstein as Cheetah; Teala Dunn as Bumblebee; Phil LaMarr as Mr. Fox; and Tom Kenny as Crazy Quilt
