It turns out that Perry was hospitalized after he underwent a surgery to repair a gastrointestinal perforation, according to Deadline. His representative said in a statement, “He is grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heals.”
The 49-year-old’s condition could have been much worse if it went untreated, as such perforations can cause serious infections and other complications. More details remain private at this time, but the revelation has spawned a lot of support from both fans and celebrities as they comment on the actor’s tweet.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan star Wendell Pierce and TV personality and actress Yvette Nicole Brown were quick to wish their fellow actor well.
Wishing you nothing but GOOD HEALTH
