Matthew Perry Receives Fan & Celebrity Support Following Hospitalization

Actor Matthew Perry is receiving a lot of love after opening up about a health scare this weekend.

Most beloved for his role as Chandler Bing in Friends, Perry has most recently appeared on the small screen in projects like The Good FightThe Odd Couple, and The Kennedys: Decline and Fall. But it’s been a while since he’s been in the spotlight, and now we’re learning why.

The actor posted on Twitter on September 15, “Three months in a hospital bed. Check.”

It turns out that Perry was hospitalized after he underwent a surgery to repair a gastrointestinal perforation, according to Deadline. His representative said in a statement, “He is grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heals.”

The 49-year-old’s condition could have been much worse if it went untreated, as such perforations can cause serious infections and other complications. More details remain private at this time, but the revelation has spawned a lot of support from both fans and celebrities as they comment on the actor’s tweet.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan star Wendell Pierce and TV personality and actress Yvette Nicole Brown were quick to wish their fellow actor well.
