Everything We Know About the ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 9 Premiere

Blue Bloods returns for its ninth season with a dramatic premiere episode called “Playing with Fire,” and the title pretty much sums it up!

Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) “takes on a personal case involving a drug cartel member, Louis Delgado (Lou Diamond Phillips), who Danny believes is responsible for torching his house,” CBS revealed in a press release.

And as fans know, once Danny sets his mind to something, he’ll always see it through.

Meanwhile, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) gets a promotion in the DA’s office but Samar “Sam” Chatwal (guest star Aasif Mandvi) is also eyeing a new, bigger role. Erin once finds herself torn between her responsibilities as an attorney and her role as a sister to Danny and Jamie (Will Estes) when they ask her for help with their respective investigations.

Jamie also has a disagreement with Frank (Tom Selleck) about the status of his partnership with fiancée Eddie (Vanessa Ray) — the two got engaged on the Season 8 finale. Frank wants them to stop riding together while Jamie doesn’t fell like it’s an issue.
