Kerry Washington is adding another project to her already packed schedule.

The Scandal alum is set to star in and executive produce the upcoming Hulu sci-fi drama series, Old City Blues, based on Giannis Milonogiannis’ Boom! Studios graphic novel.

If the project gets a series order, Grace of Monaco screenwriter Arash Amel will handle the script, and Oscar-winner Gore Verbinski will direct, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The story is set in the year 2048 in New Athens, which was built on ruins of the Greek city. The high-tech city is filled with smugglers, drug dealers, corrupt politicians, and powerful corporations who face off with New Athens Special Police.

At this point it’s not known which character Washington will play.

This series marks the second project Washington has with the streaming service. She’s starring in and executive producing the limited series, Little Fires Everywhere, which is an adaptation of the best-selling book by Celeste Ng.

It co-stars Reese Witherspoon, who is also executive producing.

Plus, Washington is directing an episode of SMILF, the comedy series on Showtime from creator Frankie Shaw. The show is currently filming its second season in Boston, with the new season returning to air in January 2019.
