Can lightning strike twice for The CW’s comic book-based series Black Lightning? From the sounds of what’s coming in Season 2, we think so.

The cast, including Cress Williams (Black Lightning), China Anne McClain (Lightning), Nafessa Williams (Thunder), Christine Adams (Lynn Pierce), James Remar (Gambi), Damon Gupton (Henderson) and Marvin “Krondon” Jones III (Tobias Whale), stopped by the TV Insider and TV Guide Magazine video suite to chat about what’s on the horizon. According to Williams, whose hero/principal Jefferson Pierce was arrested in the finale, it doesn’t look great.

“Jefferson tries to get back to normalcy and that’s not going to happen,” Williams teases. Well, when you’re the patriarch in a super-powered family… would you ever really expect normal?

There’s also talk of the suspended-in-time “Pod Kids,” getting Gambi back into the Pierce’s good graces (OK, maybe just Jefferson needs convincing of that), the new Deputy Chief’s plans for Freeland and of course, what the heck was in that briefcase that Tobias was clutching so dearly in the season finale?! Jones teases that it holds the future of Freeland, but for baddie Tobias he says, “it’s going to be a self-serving future.” Yikes!
