One doctor out, another one in … or so we think. Following Thursday’s surprise exit of Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) on Grey’s Anatomy, the ABC show has cast One Tree Hill star Bethany Joy Lenz in a new mysterious role.

Lenz kicks off her arc in Season 14 of the long-running medical drama as Jenny. As far as who Jenny is or how she’ll be introduced, that remains to be seen. The Hollywood Reporter was first to report the casting news.

The actress, who starred as Hayley James Scott for all nine seasons of The CW teen drama One Tree Hill, has been to Shondland before, starring in the original pilot for The Catch.

The Grey’s Anatomy‘s cast has been in a transition period since the departure of Patrick Dempsey in Season 11. Henderson concluded his more than two-year arc as Dr. Nathan Riggs by riding off into the sunset (a.k.a. a California beach) with his lady love, Dr. Megan Hunt (played by Timeless star Abigail Spencer). Actress Jerrika Hinton (Stephanie) left the series at the end of last season, while Jason George is expected to depart for the Grey’s firehouse spinoff.
