‘Project Runway’ Designer Mychael Knight Dies at 39
Fashion designer Mychael Knight has died at the age of 39. TV viewers may know him as a finalist on Season 3 of Project Runway in 2006. He then returned for a role on the All Stars version of the fashion design competition show.
Knight died on Tuesday at a hospital in Georgia. He reportedly checked into the hospital because he was receiving treatment for intestinal issues.
“We are saddened to hear about the passing of a member of the Project Runway family, designer Mychael Knight,” Lifetime said in a statement. “It’s a loss of a great talent and we wish his family peace and solace during this difficult time.”
Knight was the head designer and creative director of his own collection and had recently launched a secondary line called MYKA.Mychael Knight. Before his death, he told Ebony, he was also wanted to move into the costume world of film and TV.
