As for which “Twitter rules” McGowan broke? The social media platform didn’t specify, but before her suspension she did give Ben Affleck a “F**k you” after he issued an apology to Hilarie Burton for groping her on TRL in 2003.

Meanwhile, fellow actresses Jessica Chastain and Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette snapped back at Twitter. Chastain wrote, “Hey @Twitter let us know which of these rules @rosemcgowan broke. Asking for multiple victims of sexual violence” while Arquette tweeted, “@rosemcgowan’s twitter account has been suspended. I expect to start seeing smear stories on her anytime now. This is the sad reality.”

And other users made their voices heard as well: @Redpainter1 wrote, “You want to know why victims of sexual assault don’t speak out? Our voice gets silenced. We get punished.”

@nightbreak wrote, “And a man sitting in the WH can say whatever he wants. Guess @Twitter only cares about rules when money and men are involved.”

@bradripka said, “One of these people is a white supremacist. The other’s an actress who spoke about sexual assault.”

@julielack posted, “Dear Twitter, get on the right side of history!! You’re embarrassing yourself and shaming women.”
