Actor Ben Affleck appears with VJ's Hilarie Burton and La La on MTV's "TRL" at the MTV Times Square Studios February 13, 2003 in New York City.

Ben Affleck has issued an apology to Hilarie Burton for an incident that took place on back in 2003. In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal and Affleck's tepid response to the allegations against the former studio exec, a Twitter user resurfaced an incident where Affleck grabbed Burton's breasts while on MTV's Total Request Live.

A user on the social media platform wrote: "[Ben] also grabbed Hilarie Burton's breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though." To which Burton directly responded and wrote: "I didn't forget ... Seriously, thank you for that. I was a kid."

Burton describes Affleck groping her in the video below (skip ahead 40 second), recalling, "He comes over and tweaks my left boob!"

The 35-year-old actress embedded the video on Twitter and wrote, "Girls. I'm so impressed with you brave ones. I had to laugh back then so I wouldn't cry. Sending love."

In response to Burton's tweet, Affleck quickly took to Twitter to express his regrets. "I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize," the actor tweeted Wednesday.

Before Burton landed the role of Peyton Sawyer on One Tree Hill and Agent Palmer on Fox's Lethal Weapon, she was a VJ on TRL and interviewed many celebrities. She started in 2000 when she was just 19 years old, straight out of high school.
